February 25, 2010 | Angelic Influences
I woke up at 7:45 AM trying to shake off the “I got towed and had to spend $418.00 blues!” I hit the gym immediately after breakfast so I could run off some of the stress from the night before.
I returned to Pam’s place and talked to her for a little while. She kept looking outside to see if the rabbit was still in the backyard. As we discussed everything that had taken place the night before, she started crying because she didn’t want our time together remembered as the trip that I got towed and had to spend a lot of money. She felt horrible for me. That helped me put things in perspective, and it was at that point that I began to try and let go of what had happened.
I packed up my things, loaded up my truck and said goodbye to my dear friend, Pam. She looked cute in her pink shirt and big, fluffy, purple slippers. I was so happy that I was able to spend a couple of days with her and her husband.
After I said goodbye to Pam, I drove to Interstate 5 and continued my journey south, through central California. My destination on this day was Bakersfield. As I took in the scenery on both sides of the Interstate, I began listening to the CD’s that Dan had given me the night before. I especially liked, “High On The Heels” by The Whitest Boy Alive.
As I was driving, I couldn’t help but notice that all of the orchards were in full bloom and the grass on the hills glowed an electric shade of green. It was springtime in central California.
I also noticed about ten different hawks sitting on trees and fence posts alongside the Interstate, and at one point I even saw a coyote. I wondered if the coyote was offering wisdom regarding my visit with Pam, or if it was warning me of things to come.
Coyote brings the following wisdom:
- Facing the end of one’s cycle with dignity and courage
- Death and rebirth
- Spirit teaching
- Guidance in dreams and meditations
- Instinct linked with intelligence
- Social and familial values
- Outwitting enemies
- Ability to pass unseen
- Steadfastness
- Skill in protection of self and family

As I continued down the interstate, I was taken by surprise when a car full of monks passed me going well over the speed limit. All of them had the biggest smiles on their faces. They looked delighted. Seeing them made my day. I eventually caught up with them at the next rest area and snapped their photo as they walked towards the restroom.
I made it safely to Bakersfield a couple of hours later and drove around town until I found a beautiful, clean RV park. I walked into the office just as they were closing up for the night, and the lady behind the desk told me I could stay the night for $10.00. She put me in space #132, told me where the showers and restroom were located and sent me on my way.
I ran an extension cord to my truck and worked on my computer for a couple of hours…
and went to bed around midnight.
