April 27, 2010 | Recognizing Design Beneath Disorder
I woke up very slowly on this day, taking my time to greet the morning and realize the fact that I was once again close to family.
After my niece went to work, I worked on my journal and hung out with my niece’s three dogs. While I was sitting on the porch, trying to figure out what I was doing to do with my day, a roach made itself known to me by walking across the deck, near my feet. This roach appeared to be dying.
Roach offers the following wisdom:
- Speed to avoid harm
- Understanding shadow
- Moving through fear
- Understanding disgust in others – Copyright www.animalspirits.com
As I continued to work on my journal my thoughts turned to a conversation that I had with my niece the night before, which was about faith. I tried to explain to her that sometimes faith is all one needs to be motivated. I told her that I had sacrificed all of my life savings and what little bit of retirement I had to take this journey and that I was down to about $1,000.00 in cash. And I made this journey on faith that everything would be okay in the end.
With just three days to go, including this day, it appeared as though my journey would be successful. I would soon be able to start looking for work so I could pay off some of my bills and get my chipped tooth fixed. I totaled all of my donations, which came to $495.00. Those donations had made a huge difference. I promised myself that once I got back on my feet that I would pay the $495.00 forward in some special way, perhaps to one of my favorite charities.
Thanks again Mark, Chatchanok, Jessica, Barb, Natalie, and Debbie for your donations!
That afternoon I reconnected with my ex-sister-in-law, my niece’s mother, and the two of us headed out for a drive around Wilmington. She had a couple of small businesses in town and wanted me to think about taking over one of her retail stores. I took the following photo right before we headed out on our drive. The time was 2:31. It was another message from my mother’s spirit. I guess it was her way of saying hello.
We returned a few hours later. My niece, one of her close friends and I rode our bikes twice around Greenfield Lake, which ended up being approximately ten miles. It was so much fun. It started to rain just as we were finishing up our ride.
That evening my niece and her boyfriend treated me to dinner, and we came back to their house to watch the movie, “The Fourth Kind.”
I revisited my daily Kabbalah meditation before I went to bed and finished journaling that night around 11:32. I went to bed shortly afterward with plans to hit the road the following morning for one last destination, before returning to my hometown.
