March 25, 2010 | The Big Picture
During the last several days I had been working on my journal at Taylor’s kitchen table. Facing directly in front of me was the back door. I couldn’t remember which day it was, but at one point I had decided to open the door and let some fresh air into the house, and glanced over at the door and saw an image in the dog flap, of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus.
I got excited when I saw the image. However, I did not consider this the image of Christ that I was in search.
On day thirty-seven I set out to visit a couple of the missions in the San Antonio area. My first stop was the San Jose Mission.
While I was walking around the grounds of the mission, I came upon a crucifix, and sitting on that crucifix was a very courageous Mockingbird. The bird just sat on the cross and starred at me.
I walked closer and closer and took the following photo before it flew away.
Mockingbird brings the following medicine:
- Using knowledge gained on the outside to heal the inside
- Learning through experience
- Overcoming fear
- Intelligence – Copyright www.animalspirits.com
I continued to take photos while I explored the mission.
Once I finished exploring the San Jose Mission, I headed to the San Antonio Mission, otherwise known as the Alamo. It was a beautiful, sunny, clear day.
Before I went inside, I removed my hat and turned off my camera.
I couldn’t get over the size of the trees in the courtyard. They were so majestic and filled with so much wisdom.
That evening when Taylor got home from work, the two of us went out for a bite to eat and then headed over to the McNay Art Museum, for a free night of art. We saw some fantastic pieces of art. We left the museum after dark and walked around the grounds for a short period. I was so inspired by all of the art that I decided to be spontaneous, have some fun, and make some art of my own.
We returned to Taylor’s house, and we began the second half of the movie, Giant. The film was incredible. We went to bed around midnight.
